London Market Leaders 2008

The London market is one that remains a truly global hub for the insurance and reinsurance industry.
The biggest and best names in the business all have operations in London and it enjoys a global reputation unmatched by any other insurance centre.
When we undertook a survey to find the London Market Leaders, we were seeking to discover which firms are held above all others by those they do business with.
We asked the brokers to give their opinion on the underwriters and sought the underwriters’ views on which brokers they felt best represented their clients and their profession.
There were no shortlists, there were no names put on the forms to prompt the responses, we simply asked who was the best in the business and collated the responses to produce the winners.
We expected some surprises and we got them, we also got the results that many readers will have expected.
Whatever the results they have been decided by the market and not a judging panel or members of our editorial team.
Those who have been crowned as Leaders in London can be rightly proud of the achievement given that, to do so, those they work with day in and day out have placed you above your peers.
The very nature of the London market, with thousands of re/insurance professionals and hundreds of companies, creates a dynamic and competitive environment underpinned by strong relationships.
Any award which recognises a firms’ ability to excel has to be applauded.
